Thai-Style related faqs

  • There are a few key differences between Traditional Thai Massage and Thai-Style massage:

Thai-style massage focuses on manipulating muscles and joints, instead of the ‘sen lines’ that Traditional Thai massage theory is based on.

Thai-style massage also does not use the therapist’s feet to apply pressure or stabilize the patient’s body. This allows Thai-Style massage to stay within the scope of practice of Registered Massage Therapists in British Columbia.

  • You can expect to receive deep, rhythmic compressions while your body is moved into different yoga-like positions

  • Thai-Style massage is recommended for people who aren’t flexible. Thai massage techniques will help relax muscles and facilitate movement in your joints, which will often result in you feeling more flexible post-treatment!

  • Patients with severe arthritis/osteoporosis or recent surgeries could be considered contraindicated for Thai-Style massage. Please reach out directly with any concerns!
